- 8oz package cream cheese-softened
- ½ cup sour cream
- 6 oz pepperoni
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 2 ½ cups mozzarella cheese
- Optional: 2 more of your favorite pizza toppings
- salt & pepper to taste
ingredient information:
- Cream cheese: We prefer using Philly brand cream cheese for this dip. If you haven’t had a chance to leave it out to soften, just pop it in the microwave for about 20 to 30 seconds.
- Sour cream: Our favorite brand of sour cream is Daisy for both the flavor and texture. You should use your favorite. This can also be swapped out for Greek yogurt.
- Pepperoni: Mini pepperoni would be ideal in this recipe if you can find it. That would eliminate the need for chopping it up. You can also opt for turkey pepperoni or any other meat typically used in pizzas, like sausage or bacon.
- Pizza sauce: Our favorite pizza sauce is Rao’s brand, though any brand of sauce will do just fine.
- Mozzarella cheese: This cheese is perfect for this dip recipe since it’s what is typically used for making pizza. You can also mix in some other cheeses, such as cheddar, parmesan or provolone to enhance the flavor. Stick to cheeses that are mild and melt easily.
instructions:
Stick around to the end, and I’ll give you some of my favorite tips when making this dip.
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
- Prepare any other toppings you want to include in your pepperoni pizza dip. We chose mushrooms and sweet peppers, using ½ cup of each. Chop the toppings and saute in olive oil until soft. Reserve a bit for garnishing the top of the dip.
- Put aside about 8 slices of pepperoni. Chop up the rest into small pieces.
- In a bowl, place the cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, chopped pepperoni, other prepared toppings, and ½ cup mozzarella.
- Blend the ingredients together until smooth.
- Spread the mixture into the bottom of a deep dish pie plate.
- Spread on the pizza sauce.
- Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
- Garnish the top with remaining toppings and slices of pepperoni.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.

my recipe tips
What really makes this pizza dip the best is including your favorite pizza toppings. In addition to pepperoni, we went with mushrooms and sweet peppers since those are our family favorites. You should choose what your favorites to include. I would not include more than 2 additional toppings so that the base remains creamy.
When cooking the additional toppings, add a little olive oil to the pain first. Then season as desired with salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder.

🍽️ serving ideas
There are lots of things that you can dip into this delicious pizza dip, but our favorite is some toasted crusty garlic bread. I have the perfect recipe that you can check out HERE. You can also just use chunks of rustic bread, crackers, store made toasties, pieces of pizza crust cut up, bagel chips or even tortilla chips. If you want a healthier version, use celery sticks or baby carrots.
If you’re having a get together with lots of appetizers, this dip recipe is great alongside this cannoli dip or this chicken marinara dip. You could also include another pizza flavored dip with this amazing Hawaiian pizza dip recipe. Then there will be a little something for everyone.
do we have a preferred cream cheese brand?
Yes!!! I understand that this is a personal preference, but I always use Philadelphia cream cheese (even though Philly is our sports rival here in Pittsburgh). There’s just something about the taste. That being said, any cream cheese brand will work just fine. So, stick with your favorite brand when making this dip.

recipe notes
- Tips: Check out my recipe tips above to help you get the best results for this super yummy dip.
- Storage: Keep leftovers (if you even have any) covered in plastic wrap or in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 to 4 days. I don’t recommend freezing this dip, as it may affect the texture.
- Dip prep: You can make this dip up ahead of time, though I would hold off on the baking until it’s time to serve for best results.
- Reheat: You can use the microwave, air fryer or oven to reheat this dip. My preference is to place it back in the oven until warmed through and the cheese is melty. Whatever method you decide to use, keep a close eye so that the dip does not become overworked or even burnt.
