how to make charcuterie dip

- 10 oz sharp cheddar cheese
- 10 oz hard salami
- 10 oz Swiss cheese
- 8 oz blueberries or raspberries
- 2 Tbsp chopped pistachios (optional)
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- honey or hot honey to drizzle
- salt to taste
ingredient information:
- Swiss cheese: We included this cheese for its nutty and mild flavor, which pairs well with the other meats and cheeses we chose.
- Cheddar cheese: Our favorite is a sharp cheddar that pairs well with the other items chosen for this charcuterie dip.
- Salami: We chose hard Italian salami for this dish. You could also go with spicy salami. However, I would skip any of the salamis that are rimmed with pepper, as the flavor tends to overpower.
- Blueberries: Blueberries that are sweet and rip are perfect for this charcuterie dip, but sometimes blueberries are not as sweet, especially when off season. If this is the case, instead choose blackberries, raspberries, diced strawberries, peaches or dried apricots. The goal is to balance out the saltiness of the cheese and meat with some sweetness in the berries.
- Hot honey: Hot honey is just what it sounds like, honey with a little heat. It’s perfect for this charcuterie dip (though feel free to use regular honey if you don’t want the spice). We’ve been enjoying Mike’s hot honey. There’s are two levels of heat, and we opt for the more mild.
instructions:
Stick around to the end, and I’ll tell you how to customize this recipe for your own taste.
- Cut the cheeses and salami into tiny cubes (about ¼ inch).
- Place the cut up cheese and salami in a bowl.
- Add the blueberries (or raspberries cut in half).
- Stir in some olive oil and mix it all together.
- Pour the mixture into a serving dish like a small platter or deep pie plate.
- Now drizzle the honey on the charcuterie dip.
- Optional: Finish it off with the pistachios and salt to taste.

my recipe tips
- Customization: This recipe is just a starting place for creating the charcuterie dip of your dreams. Add some veggies like diced pepper or cherry tomatoes. Change up the cheeses, the meat and even the sweet addition. For the cheeses, stick with ones that chunk well and don’t crumble, like Colby Jack, Gouda, Mozzarella pearls, Havarti, or Monterey. Meat substitutes might include cooked ham, pepperoni, spicy salami, or deli turkey.
- Size matters: When dicing up the items for your dip, smaller is better. The goal is to be able to get a combination of flavors into one bite.
- Looks matter: When choosing items for this charcuterie dip, think about color. For example, there are lots of cheeses you can choose. So, don’t go with 2 that are the same color. After all, we eat with our eyes first.
- Other additions: Of course, there are other things that could go in this charcuterie dip that we left out. Instead of going the sweet route, add olives or pickle pieces instead of fruit and honey. Add more heat with some pepper flakes. Add sweetness with some apricot or other jam that has been thinned for drizzling.

🍽️ serving ideas
There are lots of things that you can dip into this delicious charcuterie dip, but our favorite is some toasted crusty garlic bread. I have the perfect recipe that you can check out HERE. You can also just use chunks of rustic bread, crackers, store made toasties, bagel chips or even tortilla chips. If you want a healthier version, use lettuce leaves or cucumber slices.
If you’re having a get together with lots of appetizers, this dip recipe is great alongside this creamy olive tapenade dip or this buckeye dip. Then there will be a little something for everyone.

- Storage: Keep leftovers (if you even have any) covered in plastic wrap or in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 to 4 days. I don’t recommend freezing this dip, as it may affect the texture.
- Dip prep: You can make this dip ahead. At the time of serving, give it a mix and add an extra drizzle of honey.
