- Puff pastry-thawed
- Flour (optional)
- 1 egg
- Everything bagel seasoning
ingredient information:
- Puff pastry: Any brand of prepared frozen puff pastry will work for this recipe. The kind we bought had 2 full sheets. We chose to only prepare one of the sheets. Be sure to keep it in the fridge until it thaws prior to use. It should still be cold.
- Egg: Instead of using an egg for the egg wash, you can swap it out for melted butter, any type of milk, or even plain water. We’re basically looking for something to help the bagel seasoning stick to the pastry better.
- Everything bagel seasoning: Grab your favorite everything bagel seasoning or make your own with a combination of white and black sesame seeds, poppy seeds, minced dried onion, minced dried garlic and course salt.
- Flour: You may not need this if using parchment or wax paper, but if your pastry is sticking to the surface or to the cookie cutter, use some flour.
instructions:
Stick around to the end, and I’ll tell you how to make sweet options.
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees
- Remove the thawed puff pastry from the package and lay it out on a lightly floured surface (if needed) or onto parchment paper.
- Use a small biscuit cutter to cut shapes out of the puff pastry and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between each.
- Crack the egg into a bowl and whisk it with a fork.. Use a pastry brush to apply a layer of the egg to the top of each cut out pastry.
- Sprinkle the everything bagel season on each pastry.
- Bake for 5 to 10 minutes until golden.
- Once removed from the oven, use a spoon to gently press down the center of each puff.

my recipe tips
- Shape up!: For this recipe, we used a simple round biscuit cutter, but you could also use other cookie cutter shapes for creating your puffs. For example, if you’re hosting a July 4th picnic, make some stars or create hearts for a Valentine Day spread. There are so many possibilities.
- Size matters: When choosing a cutter for these dippers, be sure not to go too big. They should be about the size of crackers.

🍽️ serving ideas
These simple little dippers are perfect for almost any savory dip you find here. Some of my favorites to pair them with include the smoked salmon dip, the cheesy artichoke dip, the roasted red pepper puree, and the everything bagel dip.
how to make sweet dippers
To turn these savory little dippers into sweet bites, skip the step of sprinkling on everything bagel seasoning. Simple bake as directed. Once removed from the oven and while still warm, sprinkle generously with powdered sugar on both sides. OR fill a gallon Ziploc bag with 1/2 cup sugar and 2 Tbsp cinnamon, add the warm puffs and give it a gentle shake to cover. Both of these options will be perfect to pair with your sweet dips, like this lemon blueberry dip or this banana split dip.
