Easy and Versatile Fruit Dip Recipe
With just a few ingredients, we’ve created the most scrumptious and easy fruit dip. I can’t claim that it’s exactly healthy, but at least you’ll feel better about eating your sugar when it’s wrapped around fresh pieces of fruit. This creamy dip has a slight citrus flavor that enhances everything that’s served with it.

Now let’s get right to the good stuff…

- 8 oz. package cream cheese-softened
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup frozen orange juice concentrate (thawed)
- Orange zest
ingredient information:
- Cream cheese: We prefer using Philadelphia brand cream cheese for this dip, though any brand will work. If you haven’t had a chance to leave it out to soften, just pop it in the microwave for about 20 to 30 seconds.
- Vanilla: A quality vanilla really does elevate any recipe. Skip the imitation and use a vanilla extract.
- Powdered Sugar: This is not to be confused with white sugar. It’s very finely milled and combined with a small amount of an anti clumping agent so that it appears like snow. It melts into the cream cheese to form the perfect creamy base to take on other flavors.
- Orange juice concentrate: Don’t confuse this with orange juice. Concentrate can be found in the freezer section. Allow it to sit in the fridge until thawed prior to using. If you cannot find any at your local grocery store, you can replace it with high quality orange juice at a 1:1 ratio, but it will impact the overall flavor of the dip, resulting in a milder citrus flavor.
instructions:
Stick around to the end, and I’ll tell you how to toast your rye bread for serving.
- With a hand blender, mix together cream cheese, orange juice concentrate and vanilla.
- Then slowly mix in the powdered sugar until smooth.
- Transfer the mixture into a serving dish.
- Garnish with orange zest.

my recipe tips
- Choose a citrus: You can replace the orange flavoring in this recipe with lemon or lime instead. Just use the juice concentrate and zest of those fruits instead. Each will add it’s own special taste to this fruit dip.
- Double the recipe: Trust me, you’re going to want to double this recipe. It will go quickly, and you’ll want more.

🍽️ serving ideas
Of course you can choose almost any fruit to dip into this amazing sweet concoction, but you can also choose other items to dip freely. Try some marshmallows, pieces of chocolate, cookies or graham crackers.
If you’re having a get together with lots of appetizers, this dip recipe is great alongside this Hawaiian pizza dip or this caramel apple dip. Then there will be a little something for everyone.
do we have a preferred cream cheese brand?
Yes!!! I understand that this is a personal preference, but I always use Philadelphia cream cheese (even though Philly is our sports rival here in Pittsburgh). There’s just something about the taste. That being said, any cream cheese brand will work just fine. So, stick with your favorite brand when making this dip.
other ways to use this dip
This is first and foremost a fruit dip, but you can also utilize it in other recipes. Use it as a filling in a donut or danish pastry. You could also use this as a topping for pancakes or french toast. Another option is creating a fruit pizza with a cookie crust, fruit dip as the “sauce” and then pieces of fruit as the toppings. It’s also excellent as a topping for oatmeal or layered in a parfait.

recipe notes
- Tips: Check out my recipe tips above to help you get the best results for this super yummy dip.
- Storage: Keep leftovers (if you even have any) covered in plastic wrap or in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 to 5 days. I don’t recommend freezing this dip, as it may affect the texture.
- Dip prep: You can prepare this dip ahead of time and keep it in the fridge overnight prior to serving.
