Super Simple Layered Deviled Egg Dip Recipe
Deviled eggs are a staple at any gathering at our house. Turning them into a dip just seemed like a natural thing to do. We have a rather traditional recipe you can use, but it can be fancied up any way you like. I’ll give you a few ideas if you read on.

Now let’s get right to the good stuff…

- 1 cup Duke’s mayo
- ¼ cup Dijon mustard
- 4 to 6 large soft boiled eggs
- ⅓ cup diced tomatoes (seeds removed)
- ⅓ cup diced dill pickles
- 1 to 2 green onions
- Salt and pepper to taste
ingredient information:
- Mayo: You’ll see that we used Duke’s mayo for this recipe, but you can swap it out for your favorite.
- Dijon mustard: Choose your favorite brand of Dijon mustard for this dish. You can also swap it out for yellow mustard or mustard powder.
- Boiled eggs: Boil your eggs, leaving them just a bit soft in the middle for best results. Peel well.
- Tomatoes: Use any type of tomato that you have on hand. Plum tomatoes often have less moisture and are a good choice.
- Dill pickles: Grab your favorite dill pickles. You can even swap them out for sweet pickles if you prefer. If you do this, forgo the green onions.
- Green onions: also known as scallions. We skipped using the white part and just used scissors to snip a bit of the green as a garnish.
instructions:
Stick around to the end, and I’ll tell you how to adapt it to your taste.
- Mix together the mayo and dijon mustard and spread onto a plate.
- Chop your boiled eggs and placed them on top to form the next layer.
- Then add the diced tomatoes and chopped dill pickles.
- Season well with salt and pepper.
- Garnish with the green onions, finely chopped.

my recipe tips
- Reduce moisture: Too much moisture will be problematic when you assemble this deviled egg dip. To avoid this, use a paper towel to pat the pickles dry prior to dicing. Also, remove as much moisture as possible from the tomatoes once prepared.
- Leftovers: These leftovers can continue to be eaten as a dip or use them in a pita and turn it into a sandwich.
- Other additions: You can really make this your own and customize it to your tastes, just like you can customize deviled eggs. Try adding things like herbs and spices, feta or other cheese, bacon crumbles, smoked salmon, capers, jalapenos, or hot sauce.

🍽️ serving ideas
There are lots of things that you can dip into this delicious deviled egg dip, but our favorite are some simple buttery crackers. The flavor is the perfect pairing with this dip. You can also use potato chips, pita chips or pretzels.
If you’re having a get together with lots of appetizers, this dip recipe is great alongside this classic Buffalo chicken dip or this strawberry pretzel salad dip with sugared pretzels. Then there will be a little something for everyone.
how to best boil eggs
I’ve become addicted to using my Dash mini egg cooker. This has made it so much easier to have eggs that are boiled perfectly and peel easily. You can adjust how much water it used to determine the level of cook on the yolk. Whether you use this great little tool or cook eggs the traditional way, I always recommend having an ice bath ready to pop them into so that the shell comes off easier.

recipe notes
- Tips: Check out my recipe tips above to help you get the best results for this super yummy dip.
- Storage: Keep leftovers (if you even have any) covered in plastic wrap or in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 to 4 days. I don’t recommend freezing this dip, as it may affect the texture.
- Dip prep: You can prepare all of the elements for this dip ahead of time, but I’d wait until time to serve to layer the ingredients on the serving plate.
