ingredient information:

  • Goat cheese: Goat cheese gets its name because its made from goat’s milk, which gives it a unique mellow but tangy flavor. It’s soft like cream cheese or comes in crumble form. For this recipe, choose the plain goat cheese log without additional flavorings added.
  • Dried sweetened cranberries: These are just what they sound like, cranberries that have been dehydrated and sweetened. You can also choose dried cherries or yellow raisins for this recipe instead.
  • Tia Lupita Mexican chili crunch: This comes in two flavors, cranberry and peanut. You can use either for this recipe with good results. We chose cranberry flavor and loved it so much! Even though it’s called chili oil, there’s not much heat at all.

instructions:

Stick around to the end, and I’ll tell the best way to serve this.

  1. Slice the goat cheese into ½ inch slices and place them onto a small serving tray. The goat cheese should be extra cold for this.
  2. Sprinkle on the dried cranberries.
  3. Spoon the crunchy chili oil over the top of the goat cheese medallions. Be generous.

my recipe tips

  • Spice it up: Even though this recipe has chili oil, there is not much heat. If you’re a person who likes your food a bit spicier, you can add some red chili flakes or even a splash of hot sauce of your choice.
  • Date night dip: This is the kind of dip that I like to create for a cozy night in the hubby. The serving size is small, and it’s a light dip that we can enjoy without guilt that we’ll regret the calories the next day. Pair it with your favorite drink and a good movie, and you have the perfect date night in.

recipe notes

  • Tips: Check out my recipe tips above to help you get the best results for this super yummy dip.
  • Storage: Keep leftovers (if you even have any) covered in plastic wrap or in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 to 4 days. I don’t recommend freezing this dip, as it may affect the texture.
  • Dip prep: You should prepare this dip just prior to serving, as keeping it in the fridge will cause the oil to seize up. If you do prepare it ahead of time and keep it in the fridge, let it reach room temperature before serving so that the oil returns to its original state.
