  • 10 6″ flour tortilla shells
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp cinnamon
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • Cooking spray

ingredient information:

  • Tortillas: For this recipe, we chose taco sized 6″ soft flour tortillas. You can also use corn tortillas if preferred. High protein/low carb tortillas will also work for this recipe.
  • Sugar: We used basic white sugar in this recipe, but you could also swap it out for some brown sugar or maple syrup in a 1:1 ratio if you prefer. I don’t recommend using a sugar replacement for this recipe.
  • Cinnamon: This earthy spice pairs perfectly with sugar and gives these chips a wonderful depth of flavor as it balances out the sweet.
  • Olive oil: We favor using extra virgin olive oil in our recipes for its rich flavor. This ingredient is a staple in Mediterranean food. It is high in monounsaturated fats and antioxidants that reduce inflammation and is often used as a substitute for butter in cooking. You can swap this out for melted butter in this recipe.

instructions:

Stick around to the end, and I’ll tell you some of my favorite dips to pair with these chips.

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Pour the olive oil into a dish.
  3. Brush the olive oil on the first tortilla and lay it on your cutting board.
  4. Next brush another tortilla and place it on top of the first. Continue this until all of the tortillas have been brushed with oil.
  5. Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to slice down the center of your tortillas.
  6. Then add 2 more cuts to form the tortillas into triangle chips.
  7. Place the tortilla triangles in a single layer onto a lined baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes until crispy and light brown in color.
  9. In a paper lunch bag, place the sugar and cinnamon.
  10. Remove the chips from the oven and gently spray then with cooking spray on each side.
  11. Place the chips in the bag in batches and shake slightly to coat with the cinnamon sugar mixture.

🍽️ serving ideas

These little sweet treats pair perfectly with so many of our delicious dips. Some of favorites for pairing include the key lime pie dip, the fruit salsa, the chocolate covered strawberries dip or the simple fruit dip. Honestly, they go with anything sweet and are a great alternative to cookies or graham crackers for the ultimate party presentation.

swap for the air fryer

First off, if you don’t have an air fryer, I highly recommend one. We use ours every day for something. For this chip recipe you can swap out the oven for the air fryer. Just use the same heat level and cut the cook time in half. You may need to do several batches since the tray or basket is smaller than a baking sheet.

If you don’t have an air fryer, I highly recommend getting one. We love ours that has trays and 2 tiers for cooking (though to be honest we only ever use one tier for best cooking results). It opens like an oven in the front and has several settings for various types of cooking. We literally use it every day for something.

You can grab one like we have on Amazon HERE or HERE. Or try a basket type air fryer. These are especially great for quickly preparing veggies, fries and nuggets. Grab this one that we love on Amazon HERE or HERE.
